2nd Year of Dance...

Our girl started her 2nd year of dance at Barbara Thompson School of Dance. She'll take ballet and tap again this year.

Addi LOVES Mrs. Barbara and Ms. Carina and was super excited to see them...

That point just kills me!!!!!

Kodi on the other hand, was wondering what our silly girl was up to :)

We moved to Studio 4 this year which means that there isn't a parent viewing window.

Bud Daddy was able to get this shot from the outside window.

My heart could just explode with pride. Our sweet ballerina is standing in first position, hand on the barre, and ready for her lesson.

Love that little ballerina to pieces!!!

2017 Solar Eclipse...

Addi Kate traveled to South Caroline with her Daddy, D-ma, uncles, and Cousin Mikey to see the Solar Eclipse and her Aunt Dottie. Unfortunately, I had to stay back in Jacksonville because I just couldn't justify being absent the second week of school AND we were allowing 300 of our 8th graders out to see the eclipse.

Daddy took pictures as they entered each of the states...my sweet little Georgia peach!

And here she is in South Carolina!

Aunt Dottie has a beautiful home and backyard. Doesn't look like Addi Kate was excited about taking a picture with Daddy...

But here is that pretty smile :)

Addi and Mikey had a great time...silly kiddos!

And they loved their 2017 Solar Eclipse t-shirts...

They got to see a lot of the eclipse in  South Carolina and experienced an awesome black out. But unfortunately, back in Jacksonville, it was cloudy. The kids and I had a great time, but we didn't get a clear view of the eclipse.

Hopefully in 2024 we'll get to see it again as a family.

Making memories!

Mommy and Me Tradition...

A dear mommy and daughter duo that I ADORE, shared a Mommy and Me tradition that they have been doing for years. I couldn't wait until Addi Kate started school, so we could start this tradition ourselves.

Being a school principal, it's hard for me to take Addi Kate to school. So while this is one of those events that pains me to miss out on, I thought this Mommy and Me tradition would help. So I've made a commitment to pick Addi up after school on her first day of school and take her for an ice cream every year.

So we started our tradition this year...

And we might have played a little SnapChat until our ice creams arrived...

Check out this yummy goodness...

This new tradition did my Mommy-heart good!

First Day of VPK4...

Addi Kate started VPK4 last week!!!! Where in the world does the time go????

Addi Kate is smart...she can write her name, she recognizes all the letters and can write almost all of them. She can count to 100 with a little help with 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80, 90, and 100.

She can say the Pledge of Allegiance and has a memory that is unbelievable.

She is an artist...she loves to draw, make art, and dance.

Addi Kate loves people and has a compassionate heart. She enjoys school and will definitely be the "teacher's pet."

Here is Addi with her VPK4 teacher, Ms. Vanessa.

And here are all her classmates...

It's going to be a GREAT school year!

One last hurrah!

We decided to have one last hurrah before the first day of school. So what else do you do in Florida? You go for a boat ride!

When is dance starting again????

This little girl would sit forever on the boat and just watch the water.

And a boat ride would not be complete without princesses :)

We drove fast, we floated in the water, then we topped off our afternoon with lunch at Whitey's.

What a great way to say goodbye to Summer!

Addi Kate's First Dance Recital...

I woke up this morning and realized that I never posted the pictures from Addi Kate's first dance recital!!!! What kind of Dance Mom am I????
So we interrupt our first week of school to insert that post here :)

This is the ad we put in her recital program...isn't she absolutely beautiful???

Her first costume not have been more perfect. She loves the color purple and she loves to wear tutus.

And the makeup...this girl loves to wear lipstick, blush, and mascara. So being able to wear makeup for her recital was icing on the cake!

Addi Kate was showered with tons of flowers from her family.

This was backstage right before her BIG DEBUT!!!

My precious little ballerina :)

After the recital, we all went outside to take family photos with the STAR of the show.

What a day...one I dreamed about for years. She is proof that dreams really do come true!

Family Fun...

Addi Kate spent her last full Tuesday with D-ma and Thursday with Jilly and Pops this past week. Now that she is transitioning to VPK4, she will go to school every day. She was able to spend Tuesday at D-ma's with her cousin Mikey and had a special lunch at Chili's.

Jilly and Pops had a new driveway poured this week and Addi left her hand print in the fresh cement. I can't wait to compare the size of these hand prints a few years from now.

To end the week, we had dinner at Outback and celebrated with a HUGE ice cream dessert. You think this little girl loves ice cream???

What a great week filled with family fun!

Rabbits to Eagles...

I honestly never imagined that time would fly by as quickly as it has since Addi Kate was born. It seems like yesterday that we found out we were expecting our baby! Addi Kate turned 4 and half last month and we measured her height like we always do on her birthday and half birthdays.

She has grown 3 inches in 6 months....WOW!

To top it off, Addi Kate will soon start VPK4...seriously, where in the world does the time go???? This past school year she was in the Rabbits classroom, but she's moving up to Eagles classroom. This past week she traditioned to her new room and met her new teacher, Ms. Vanessa.

It has been smooth transition so far and I think she's ready to start the VPK4 curriculum next week.

We love you MORE than the world sweet girl!
