Choosing a Name for our Gift from God...

I've always dreamed of baby names. I can remember in high school imagining what I would name my baby one day. My parents used the same first initial for my sister and I, so it was a MUST that I did the same with my kids one day. So I created list after list after list with all the names that I really loved, both boys and girls names. No one would probably believe me if  I share just how many lists and combinations of names I've saved :)

When David and I started trying to have a baby, the topic of baby names never really came up. I think we were worried that we would jinx ourselves if we picked out names for our children. And even when we finally DID get pregnant, it took us a while to start the conversation about names.

It was really important to me that we use a family name for our baby...I like names that are sentimental and have a special meaning. Unfortunately, all the family names that we like are boy names. So hopefully we'll be blessed with another baby one day and we'll save our boy name for our next little miracle.

For our baby girl, we decided to go with a name that we thought was pretty, feminine, and well...ABSOLUTELY PERFECT for our special baby girl.

We have chosen to name our gift from God...

We'll probably call her Addi Kate for short. We love this sweet name and our baby girl even MORE!

Grandmother Love...

While on our trip to Houston, I was able to visit with two of my grandparents. I am pretty sure we will not be able to travel to Houston for Thanksgiving this year (because I will be 30 weeks pregnant and high-risk), so I wanted to take this time to see them before the baby comes.

On Friday night we had dinner with one set of my grandparents. My Mother made us shrimp gumbo (one of my favorites) and we spent a few hours catching up and sharing stories. We left that night with a few little goodies for Baby Girl too...

This is a picture of two of three blankets that Mother made for our baby...

I just LOVE the I heart Mommy and I heart Daddy fabric :)

Mother also gave me a very special plate...

This was her plate when she was a baby. I can't wait to feed Baby Girl from this plate when she has her first real meal.

Mother also gave us this sweet little baby blanket that belonged to her...

I'm not quite sure what I'll do with the blanket yet...I'm thinking of framing it or having it heirloomed somehow.

On Saturday night before we headed out to a party, I took a quick picture with my other grandmother, Memaw...

We were able to spend a lot of time with Memaw on this trip. Because my parents were out of town this weekend, she was staying at their house and taking care of some of the dogs. She greeted us on Friday when we arrived, took us out to lunch on Saturday and made us breakfast before we left on Sunday.

I definitely got my Grandmother Love this weekend :)

All Dressed Up...

David and I just got back from a QUICK trip to Houston, which is why I haven't shared an 18 week baby bump picture. But I promise the 19 week picture will be coming this week.

I am DYING to share some of the adorable clothes our baby girl has received over the past few days though.

This was the FIRST thing I ordered when I found out we were having a baby girl...HAIRBOWS!! This is just the beginning folks...I have some multicolored and holiday ones coming soon :)

When we arrived at my parents' house this weekend, this sweet little gown was on our bed. I can't get over the sweetness of this outfit.

And this little sassy outfit was hanging in the guest bathroom at my parents' house. I'd say Baby Knight is going to be one blessed little girl :)

I couldn't wait to get home from our trip to check the mail because I have quite a few more items I'm expecting this week. So I'll share more when they finally arrive.

I can't wait to dress our sweet baby in all these cute little clothes when she gets here in February!

Gender Reveal Party...

We FINALLY had our Gender Reveal Party yesterday!!! And oh my goodness...it was definitely one of the BEST days of our lives. Before I share all the pictures let me start by explaining how our week started.

David and I had  our gender scan on Monday morning. We prepared a card for the ultrasound technician to mark if we were having a boy or girl. It was SO hard not to look at the screen, as it had been three weeks since our last ultrasound. But after she discovered the gender of our baby, we were able to enjoy the rest of the appointment and saw Baby Knight rolling all around and showing off for the camera. After our appointment I took the card and gave it to two of my friends at work. They helped me with the decorations and the BIG reveal for our party. It was a LONG week of waiting, but oh so worth every single minute.

Here are a LOT of pictures from our party...

My friend Allie created this special sign for our party. It was even cuter than I had imagined!! My plan is to use it again when we have the baby on the hospital door.

I had a great time decorating our cake table. I picked up this shadow box to display a few of our ultrasound pictures, our Gender Reveal Party invitation, and a special little onesie we had monogrammed to read "Our Miracle." We used the frames on the left for the pictures we took later for all the guests that wore either blue or pink.

I LOVED how the cake turned out. I ordered the cake at the beginning of the week and then had my friends call the baker so she would know what color batter to put on the inside.

I decorated our mantel with our "We're Expecting" sign, flowers, and a sweet blue and pink banner made by Blue Moon Studios.

I have this frame in our guest bathroom and change out the verses from time to time. This verse seemed appropriate for the day...

We took a few pre-party pictures with our immediate family...

Jilly and I

Pops (my dad) and David

The big brother :) LOVE this picture!!!

We had such a fun time seeing what color our family chose to wear for the big reveal. Here are all those that thought BOY...

And the GIRL group...

Notice that Pops (my dad) couldn't decide...so he chose both blue and pink :)

David and I...

We then invited everyone back inside and explained how our appointment went and that we didn't discover the gender either. We shared that my friends came over to our house that day and placed balloons in the nursery with the color of the gender.

We opened the door and this is what we saw...

PINK!!! I still can't believe we are having a baby girl. I had convinced myself that our little miracle was a boy, but I can honestly say I've never been so thankful to be WRONG!!! This sweet baby is already the love of my life.

We shed a LOT of happy tears, hugs, and big smiles too :)

This is probably my favorite  picture of the day!!! I just love our smiles and the pretty pink balloons :)

Our gender reveal cake...

And last but not least, the card that we had the ultrasound technician circle the gender and the ultrasound pictures from that day...

What a special day...we are having a DAUGHTER!!!!

This is the video from the reveal...make sure you watch until the end where David reads the card (and make sure you have some kleenex) :)
