Addi Kate's great grandmother and grandfather visited a few weeks ago. I think it's safe to say that they BOTH had a great time catching up...

A Big Girl in the Big Bathtub...

Addi Kate has just about outgrown her baby bathtub, after all, she's already 19 pounds and 26 inches long!!! So we decided to try out the big bathtub this past week...

And just as we suspected, she loved EVERY.SINGLE.MINUTE of it :)

Isn't that smile contagious????

She is definitely our big girl...and she loves the big bathtub!

6 Month Birthday Hat...

I just realized that I never posted the pictures of Addi Kate wearing her 6 month birthday hat...bad Mommy!!!!

For some reason I couldn't get a picture of her sweet little smile...

And trust me, this child is ALWAYS smiling!!!

I still can't believe she is half way to her 1 year birthday...time needs to SLOW DOWN!!!

Rolling, rolling, rolling...

We took Addi to her 6 month appointment last week. Our doctor assumed Addi was able to roll over from bother her tummy to her back and vice versa. She DID roll over from her tummy to her back a few times, but to be honest, we stopped working with her on it. As Jilly says..."This baby's feet hardly ever hit the ground!" So we left the doctor's office determined to teach Addi Kate to roll over from her back to her tummy.

After a little coaxing with the cell phone, we think she's got it down...

Yummy to My Tummy...

Mommy and Daddy enjoyed feeding you rice cereal the first time this past weekend. We were also excited to use your Great Grandmother's Little Bo Peep bowl...

You weren't too thrilled with the taste of the cereal. We're not sure if it's the texture, the taste, or eating from the spoon. We are going to try some different cereals to see if we can find one you really like, but in the meantime, we are going to keep trying.

Here is a short little video of you eating cereal the second day and it looks like you are starting to get the hang of it...

Good Girl/Time Out Chairs...

Jilly and Mommy found the cutest little antique chairs before you were born. We had the idea of making the chairs into a Good Girl Chair and a Time Out Chair.

Mommy did some research for Bible Verses that would be perfect for the chairs...verses that not only were meaningful, but ones that you could learn and memorize. Then Mommy had her coworker design and paint the chairs and am SO pleased at how they turned out.

This is your Good Girl Chair. Isn't it adorable??? We plan to let you sit in this chair when you do something special...for example, when you clean your room, go in the big girl potty, share your toys, etc. Mommy is planning to add balloons or a big bow to your Good Girl Chair just so you know what a reward it will be to sit in this chair. 

This is your Time Out Chair. I think the verse is absolutely perfect. Although it will be so hard for us to make you sit in this chair, we want you to learn how to make the right choices, with your words or your actions, and know that we love you more than the world and want you to be the best person you can be. 

It will be a few more month before we'll be able to use the chairs, but I hope they will be used as life-lessons for you and help us shape you into the sweetest most respectful little girl.

Happy Birthday Addison: 6 Months

Addison,

This past Friday, August 2, 2013, was your 6 month birthday. We can't believe that we are at the half way point to your 1 year birthday. How time flies!!!

You have reached several milestones this month...you are sleeping in your crib, you can sit up on your own, you have two bottom teeth, and you've started eating rice cereal.

We've noticed that your feet can touch the ground now when you are playing in your jumper. So we think that you have grown a lot taller this month. We weighed you at Jilly and Pops' house and you've only gained about 1.5 pounds. We will get your official weight and length at your appointment next week, but you are definitely growing, little girl.

Your smile LIGHTS UP OUR LIVES! No matter what happens during the day, we know that we can come home to you and all our worries and frustrations disappear with one look at your happy smiling face. 

We are planning to take you to swim lessons this next month. It is very important to us that you know how to float/swim, especially with us having a pool, going on boat rides, and spending time at the beach.

Our lives have been 110% better since you came into the world Addi Kate. We hope a day never goes by that you don't feel loved, valued, and special...because you ARE!

We love you more than the world Addison Kate!!!
