Dyeing Easter Eggs...

This year was Addi's first time to dye Easter Eggs...and she had a blast!!! Mommy's OCD was on overdrive with all the mess, but it really was fun watching her make such a mess :)

I read on Pinterest that it would be easier to put the egg in a wisk...this way they can hold the egg without dropping it and cracking the shell.

It really did work and it was easy for Addi Kate to hold the wisk instead of the egg.

She was SO proud of herself!!!! And Mommy and Daddy were too :)

I also read that if you added a little olive oil to the dye, it would make pretty eggs. Unfortunately, this didn't work out quite so well, but Addi enjoyed playing in the olive oil and dye!

She kept watching us pull the eggs out of the cups with the big spoon, so she decided to give it a try.

Addi was amazed at the color of her hands :)

Although we made a HUGE mess in the kitchen, we had such a great time watching our girl explore, learn, and dye her first Easter Eggs.

Happy Easter!

Weekend Review...

Our poor little girl got bit by an insect this past week. Addi looked perfectly fine on Wednesday night before she went to bed, but when she woke up, David noticed some small little bites on her face and her hand. We're not sure where they came from, but think that either a mosquito or some other type of bug must have been in her bedroom :( By the time Thursday night came along, the bites had grown!

I stopped by the doctor's office and showed them a picture of  her bites and they said as long as they didn't feel hard or started oozing, they would be fine. They recommended we put Neosporin on them to help heal. They don't seem to bother her at all, but they look terrible and make me feel so sad :( I'm hoping they go away soon!!

Addi's great uncle, Jeff, gave her this Snoopy and it is by far her favorite stuffed animal. She sleeps with Snoopy at night and I can always tell when she's read for bed because she'll point at him in her crib and want me to give him to her so she can snuggle before going night night.

The weather has been gorgeous lately, so we went for a boat ride. Despite the fact that Addi kept wanting to get in the water, she really enjoyed our time on the boat. She played and even attempted to drive the boat. We need to take Addi out on Pop's new boat soon!

We are looking forward to great weather this weekend too for Addi Kate's second Easter. She'll be able to participate in the Easter Egg Hunt and I can't wait to see her face when she wakes up and sees what the Easter Bunny brought her this year.

Outside...

All this little girl wants to do is play OUTSIDE! She loves the outdoors...and I'm so glad :)

We took her to a local park to play on the swings and the slides.

We also took her the beach to play in the sand.

Did I mention that Addi Kate LOVES pointing out the airplanes???

We also discovered that Addi REALLY enjoys the waves and running toward the water. Every time we turned around we had to run and bring her back.

I hope she always enjoys being outside!

Yet Another Milestone...

So Addison outgrew her rear facing car seat...to be honest, she probably outgrew it a long time ago. She is definitely big for her age...I'm not sure where she gets her height from?!?! In any event, we purchased a front facing car seat for her this past weekend and couldn't wait for her to try it. And just like we expected, she LOVED it!

I think Addi Kate likes being able to see where we are going.

AND...Mommy might have cried just a little. My baby girl is growing up way too fast.

Watermelon...

We gave Addi Kate some watermelon for the first time...she LOVED it! It's amazing how quickly she picks up on things and can eat watermelon like a pro!!

Gosh...she is the prettiest little girl I've EVER seen :)

Getting Ready for the Easter Bunny...

We have a CLOSET full of Easter outfits this year...some are new, some were gifts, and some were purchased before I ever became pregnant with Addi. So we are trying our best to make sure we put them to good use before the Easter Bunny makes his appearance in a few weeks.

I can't get over how big my little girl looks in this picture...TEAR!

Here she is again, just as happy as can be, in her new chair at PonderVille.

Addi's great grandmother sent her these Easter Bunny ears this year and she loved wearing them during dinner :)

We've also been working on teaching Addi Kate how to search for Easter eggs in the yard.

Since she will be 14 months this Easter (compared to 2 months last Easter), hunting for Easter eggs and opening her Easter basket will be so much more fun!

MORE Zoo Fun...

We made a trip to the Jacksonville Zoo during my Spring Break too. I knew it was going to be very crowded, but I had NO IDEA just how crowded. Well, let's just say that we were SO thankful that D-ma gave us a Family Membership for Christmas because we were able to bypass the lines to get in and go straight through the entrance to the zoo!!!!

We tried to visit parts of the zoo that we didn't see the last time, like the Stingray Exhibit. Addi was too little reach in and touch the stingrays, but Daddy was able to show her how to do it...

Unfortunately all the elephants were fast asleep, but we stopped by this elephant statue and took a few pictures. This is probably my favorite picture of Addison from the trip...

We put Addison on the carousel and she LOVED it!!!!

Unfortunately, she loved the carousel SO much that we were definitely not her favorite parents when it was time to take her off the ride :(

We are really enjoying our zoo trips and can't wait to go back.
