Mommy-Daughter Day...

I started my Mother's Day weekend with a Mommy-Daughter Day with Addison. We did a little shopping and then had dinner (just the two of us) at Chick fil a followed by dessert at Cold Stone Creamery.

I wasn't sure if she would like the Chick fil a nuggets, but who was I kidding?!? My little girl will eat anything.

And despite the face she is making in the picture above, she LOVED the ice cream :)

That night we came home and played beauty shop...I DIED over the cuteness of her pigtails!!!

The next day while I was enjoying a relaxing day at the hair salon with my mom, I received a text with this picture...

What in the world?!?!?! But then this picture followed...

My first of many Mother's Day gifts...David and Pops created a firepit/potting area in our backyard that I had been wanting for quite a while. And by the looks of it, Addison played a key role in helping to create this for me :)

Addi and David also bought me the prettiest necklace, it's called the Heart Knot necklace. It hasn't arrive yet, but I'll definitely post pictures as soon as it comes in. It has such a sweet meaning and is absolutely GORGEOUS!

On Mother's Day afternoon we celebrated with D-ma and the rest of David's family. And I couldn't resist taking a few silly selfies with the sweet little girl that made me a Mommy...

What a fun and THANKFUL Mother's Day weekend!

Pops' 60th Birthday...

Two weeks ago we celebrated Pops' 60th birthday! We took a tour of the St. Augustine Distillery and Ice Plant. This little stinker had a great time looking out of the big windows and running through the distillery...

We learned all about how the distillery works and the history of the Ice Plant. We followed our tour with a delicious lunch at the Ice Plant Restaurant and watched Pops blow out his birthday candle.

Happy 60th birthday Pops!

Mother's Day 2014...

I have such mixed emotions about Mother's Day. After all, I spent many years dreading this holiday. Now it's a bitter sweet day...I am BEYOND thankful for the sweet little girl that  made me a Mommy, but my heart still hurts for all the women still waiting to be moms. I don't think I will ever forget how I felt when we were waiting to be blessed with a baby...EVER!!!

This Mother's Day I learned that it isn't about the gifts, the cards, or the celebration with family. It's all about thanking God for the gift of motherhood.

My best friend sent this video to me and I literally sobbed like a baby because it's SO true!!!
Just click on the link and it will take you to the video.
Being a mom is the toughest job in the world, but I wouldn't have it any other way.

This year, I thought it only appropriate to write a letter to the special little person that allows me to celebrate Mother's Day this year.

Dearest Addison Kate,

I never dreamed in a million years that I could love someone as much as I love you. You are the prettiest, smartest, and happiest baby I've ever met. It is the highlight of my day to see your sweet little face...whether it is coming home from work or waking you up in the morning on the weekends. Each night when I rock you to sleep, I look into your baby blue eyes and thank God for you...my perfect little angel. I hope that you know how much I wanted you, waited for you, and longed to be your Mommy. You will always be my favorite little Punkin Girl. On this Mother's Day 2014, I thank you SO very much for making me a Mommy, your Mommy. I hope I will live up to your expectations of being the best Mom that I can be.

I love you more than the WORLD!
Mommy :)

Monthly Updates...

The older Addi Kate gets, the more I find it hard to keep up with her monthly updates. But I think it's important to post her monthly pictures so we can look back and compare her growth and milestones.

Here is our precious angel at 14 and 15 months old...

Addison has the BEST personality and spirit. She is always happy and as sweet as can be! She is starting to talk and some of her favorite words right now are Kodi and bubbles. Addi Kate gives the sweetest kisses, hugs, and signs I Love You...talk about melting your heart!

This little girl is an OUTSIDE girl...she likes to kick the soccer ball, water plants, play with rocks, and run through the sprinkler.

Her facial expressions are hilarious. She's started to furrow her brow when she doesn't understand something and she shrugs her shoulders too.

At her last doctor's appointment, she weighed 25 pounds and is 32 inches tall.

I don't think there is a food she doesn't like...but her favorites are watermelon, oranges, macaroni and cheese, and raviolis.

I still can't get enough of her smile...probably never will :)

Uncle Brian and Playtime...

Uncle Brian graduated from college a few weeks ago. We were so excited to watch his graduation ceremony and enjoyed celebrating afterward.

When we got home from the graduation, we spent a little time outside with our special girl!

Can't think of a better way to spend a Sunday.

Sprinkler Fun...

We put Addi Kate in her bathing suit this past weekend to have some sprinkler fun.

This little girl would spend the ENTIRE day outside if we would let her.

Waiting patiently to go outside while Mommy snaps a few pictures...

Why yes Addison, even your bathing suit has your monogram :)

We were able to take a little video of Addi as she enjoyed the sprinkler.
Please ignore how crazy I look AND my annoying baby talk voice :)

Boat Ride with Jilly and Pops...

Jilly and Pops took Addison on a boat ride this past week. Again, the weather was gorgeous and by the looks of the pictures I received that day, all three of them had a great day!

Addi smelling the flowers...

Picking up rocks with Pops...

And riding on the boat with Jilly...

Love this little girl to pieces!!!
