Lion King...

We kicked off Addison's birthday weekend with the Lion King! This is how it started...

Simba had our tickets tied around his neck :)

And Addison has slept with Simba every night SINCE!

We had amazing seats...right on the aisle where the performers entered as they made their way to the stage.

Addison's favorite parts of the show were all the animals (I LOVED the giraffe and the elephant) and of course when they held baby Simba up at the beginning during the Circle of Life.

Addi did such a great job at the show and was really engaged the entire performance!

A Chorus Line is coming in April and as much as I'd LOVE to see it, I'm not sure Addi is old enough to see that show. We'll see...

But Lion King was definitely a big hit!

Happy Birthday weekend sweet girl!

Art Stand...

Jilly and Pops gave Addison the coolest birthday gift...this art stand!

It has a piece of acrylic in it so she can paint right on it and then Pops can use the water hose to wash it off.

She tried it out this weekend by painting Daddy's hand...

I think we have an artist in the family!!!

I can see lots of art projects in our future!

Addi Kate is FIVE!

Addi Kate had quite a few fun surprises on the morning of her birthday...starting with this streamer curtain :)

Then we walked outside to find this amazing yard card!!

Then when we arrived at school, her teachers had this sweet sign posted on the door :)

I picked her up early and we went out to lunch and then had a pedicure!

We ended the night at Cap's for dinner with Jilly and Pops and helped them celebrate their 45th wedding anniversary.

What a super fun day!

Kodi Love...

We've been worried about Kodi lately because he turned 14 this January and isn't getting around as easily as he used to. The older Kodi gets, the more he has allowed Addison to pet him and give him love.  Addi has always loved Kodi...goodness, she loves ALL animals. But I've noticed that she's been paying extra attention to Kodi lately...especially now that she knows where his sweet spot is. His EARS!!!

I even found this sweet "valentine" she made for Kodi and left on his bed.

Sweet, sweet, girl :)

2nd Dentist Visit...

Now that Addison has lost her SECOND tooth, we thought we might better take her back to the dentist to make sure her new teeth are coming in the correct way. Addison was a little scared, but we reassured her that since she's done a good job of brushing, that her visit to Dr. Bright would be a breeze. And yes it was!

Addi picked out "cupcake" flavored toothpaste for her cleaning and loved having "pictures" taken of her molars.

Why does Addison look like a 16  year old???? She has LEGS FOR DAYS, that's for sure!

I am so happy the visit went well and she wasn't in the least bit scared once we arrived. We'll see you in the next 6 months Dr. Bright!

Getting Birthday Ready...

It's Addi's birthday week! I still can't get over the fact that she's turning FIVE and I still can't believe I let Daddy convince me into NOT doing a big birthday bash this year. Regardless, I think Addi will have a great birthday and birthday party.

We sent out invitations for her Sweet Pete's party this week and I fell in love with a few shots from her backyard photo session :)

We used this last one for the back of her invitations...oh so sweet!!!!

I also decided that some traditions CAN'T be broken...so for her home birthday party, we will be playing a little game of "I scream, you scream, Addi screams for ice cream?" It's not the same as our traditional "Pin the ____ on Addi Kate" but close!

And of course I asked Pops to create her a wooden #5!

It's perfect...just like my almost 5 year old :)
