Cousin Mikey Turns 10!

Despite Hurricane Irma, we had a great time at Cousin Mikey's TENTH birthday party! His party was held at Velocity Air, which is a place that has trampolines, a ninja warrior course, and balance beams and ladders with foam pits.

I still can't believe Mikey is 10...where did the time go???

The kids had pizza, cake, and had lots of fun playing on the courses.

Here is Addi Kate attempting the balance beam...

Almost little girl!!!!

Although I had a hard time getting Mikey to stand still so I could get his picture, the girls were always picture ready!!!

What a fun birthday party!

Happy Birthday Mikey!

Hurricane Irma...

We've spent the last two weeks preparing, experiencing, and picking up after Hurricane Irma. This hurricane was nothing like Matthew, the hurricane we had last year. It was much much worse. The winds and rain this time, caused so a lot of damage to our neighborhood, or neighbors' homes, AND to our home.

While Addi Kate and I set up a "slumber party" in the bathroom...what we also called our Safe Room, David was helping our neighbors move furniture and tarp up their roofs due to fallen trees. As soon as the storm was passed and David finally decided to go to bed our neighbor came over to warn us about an oak tree that was leaning toward OUR house. Fortunately, we had about 45 minutes to move our cars before the tree fell.

Although we have some damage to our home, it was nothing compared to what others experienced. I think the scariest part was that Addi Kate, Kodi, and I were in the backyard and able to watch the entire thing.

A tree company did come out the next and used a crane to pull the tree off our home, but we still have the debris out in front of our house. Check out ALL the debris from this one tree...

Luckily Addi wasn't scared at all through the storm. She actually had "fun" sleeping in our bathroom and playing around the house with Kodi. We are just hoping that we can all the aftermath picked up before another hurricane makes its way to Jacksonville. We are closely watching Hurricane Maria as she is slowly gaining speed and headed our way! Prayers!

Destin Trip 2017 (Part 3)

As our Destin trip came to an end, we spent the last day at both the beach and in the pool.

The boys taught Addison how to play Jenga...and she LOVED it!

We watched the sunset and had some sparklers for the kids to play with that evening.

And of course, we took our annual family beach pic!

Until next year...

Destin Trip 2017 (Part 2)

One of the funnest things to do while on our Destin trips is to watch these kiddos play. Although we only get to see them once or twice a  year, they always pick up right where they leave off.

This year it was Blaise, Addison, and Rocco...but we will have third little boy joining us next year. The Provitolas will have THREE boys come October.

Destin Trip 2017 (Part 1)

We took our annual Destin trip and met up with our dear friends, the Provitolas. We were concerned that Hurricane Irma would ruin the weather, but it was absolutely gorgeous!

This was our view from the balcony...we could see both the ocean and the lake.

We also spent  a lot of time at the pool. If you look close enough, you can see the ocean in the background.

But the beach was clearly our favorite place to hang out...

More fun to share in the next few posts.

2nd Year of Dance...

Our girl started her 2nd year of dance at Barbara Thompson School of Dance. She'll take ballet and tap again this year.

Addi LOVES Mrs. Barbara and Ms. Carina and was super excited to see them...

That point just kills me!!!!!

Kodi on the other hand, was wondering what our silly girl was up to :)

We moved to Studio 4 this year which means that there isn't a parent viewing window.

Bud Daddy was able to get this shot from the outside window.

My heart could just explode with pride. Our sweet ballerina is standing in first position, hand on the barre, and ready for her lesson.

Love that little ballerina to pieces!!!

2017 Solar Eclipse...

Addi Kate traveled to South Caroline with her Daddy, D-ma, uncles, and Cousin Mikey to see the Solar Eclipse and her Aunt Dottie. Unfortunately, I had to stay back in Jacksonville because I just couldn't justify being absent the second week of school AND we were allowing 300 of our 8th graders out to see the eclipse.

Daddy took pictures as they entered each of the states...my sweet little Georgia peach!

And here she is in South Carolina!

Aunt Dottie has a beautiful home and backyard. Doesn't look like Addi Kate was excited about taking a picture with Daddy...

But here is that pretty smile :)

Addi and Mikey had a great time...silly kiddos!

And they loved their 2017 Solar Eclipse t-shirts...

They got to see a lot of the eclipse in  South Carolina and experienced an awesome black out. But unfortunately, back in Jacksonville, it was cloudy. The kids and I had a great time, but we didn't get a clear view of the eclipse.

Hopefully in 2024 we'll get to see it again as a family.

Making memories!
